Retail Recruitment Agency
Retail Hunter

Retail Hunter addresses a critical labor shortage affecting Germany's grocery retail sector, where over 82% of food retailers struggle to fill essential positions from butchers and cashiers to store managers—a staffing crisis that costs individual stores between €2,500 and €18,000 monthly in lost revenue per vacant position. Operating exclusively for independent grocery retailers (selbstständige Kaufleute) affiliated with major chains like REWE and EDEKA, their business model replaces traditional recruitment methods with social media-driven candidate acquisition, gamification elements like industry-specific quizzes, and full-service applicant management that functions as an outsourced HR department. The challenge was creating a digital platform that could communicate urgency and quantifiable business impact to time-strapped store owners while explaining a relatively novel recruitment methodology that diverges significantly from conventional job posting approaches.

Braunsberger Media developed a Squarespace website, brochure and custom visuals structured around the economic consequences of understaffing—leading with concrete cost data, featuring detailed breakdowns of direct losses (unfilled shelves, overtime premiums, temp agency markups) and indirect impacts (customer attrition, team burnout, inventory waste), before presenting their five-step recruitment process as a systematic solution. The site architecture prioritized rapid comprehension for decision-makers operating under constant operational pressure, using clear visual hierarchy, industry-specific language, and testimonials from fellow independent retailers rather than generic marketing claims. The result was a conversion-focused platform that spoke directly to the daily realities of grocery retail management, positioning Retail Hunter not as an abstract service provider but as an essential operational partner addressing a documented crisis with measurable, rapid results.

Our Workflow

Phase 1

Designing the full website based on the agreed written site structure. If there’s no existing copy, I will fill the pages with placeholder text and provide professional, customized stock images where required. Additionally, we can handle copywriting tasks upon request.

Phase 2

Discuss the website draft and your comments during dedicated feedback calls. This phase includes fine-tuning the design based on your input and optimizing key areas, mobile responsiveness, SEO titles and descriptions, and the social images (Page Settings).

Phase 3

You stay in control: Once the website design is in its final stage, I’ll conduct a personalized training session for you or your team to show you how to manage the site. Optional: If you’re too busy to handle content management tasks on your own, we can step in to assist with any content updates or adjustments as needed.

Phase 4

The website is ready to go live: We’ll handle publishing the website with your domain, transitioning between Squarespace accounts if necessary, and submitting it directly to Google for accelerated indexing.
